Ultimate Fight Night 73 Fight PredictionsSo let’s get the important things out of the way. These fight predictions are just that, predictions. I am not responsible if you follow my predictions, bet money and lose. Ok? These are just my opinions on good bets to make. Right now I am using two sites for betting, one is fantasy MMA located at Draft Kings and the other is just a site that lets me keep track of straight up or parlay bets. So far since signing up, I’m not doing well on the later, but I’m only 2 events in. Ok with that said, let’s break this down into the two different sections.
Draft KingsThe key to Draft Kings is not only predicting which fighters will win, but who will win the fastest while also keeping under the salary cap. Draft Kings sets the value of each fighter, and you of course pick your five fighters. The key is to figure out which underdog is going to give you the most points as you cannot just pick all favorites. So the favorites that I like on Draft Kings are: Michael Johnson and Uriah Hall. Both guys have potential to end the fight quickly and both are set up in fights that they should shine in. The underdogs that I like are Sam Alvey, Sirwan Kakai, and Tom Watson. Alvey is always looking for a quick finish and his opponent Brunson does the same. This could come down to who connects first. The other two, I like them for the fact that I think they will be competitive in their fights and it will go the distance. Even if they don’t win, they should still be able to rack up some points. Depending on what you do with your picks, the main event could go either way. Both Teixeira and OSP have potential to make the other fighter’s night short. I’ve seen people hedge their bets on Draft Kings by picking the same four fighters and then making separate bets with a single fight. Remember the key to Draft Kings is to get the highest fantasy points which sometimes means taking a chance on a fighter versus someone you think will just ride out a decision. Regular BettingThis is a very tough card to predict correctly. One could go the route of just betting on the favorites, but that won’t give a big ROI and of course when there are odds as high as -900 for a fighter, you know an upset is going to happen to some of these. So with that said, the only fight I really like for betting on is Uriah Hall over Oluwale Bamgbose. Bamgbose is stepping up on 2 weeks notice and that almost always spells trouble. Additionally his 5-0 record is impressive, but he hasn’t fought anyone the caliber of Hall. Hall’s biggest drawback is he struggles in higher profile fights and with this not being a high profile fight, he should be able to get the finish. Hall is sitting at -380 right now and so in my fake money tracker of betting, I am risking 3 units to win .8 units. What that means is I am risking $300 to win $80.
